GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Licensed Counselor provides high-quality, culturally competent behavioral health services to a diverse patient population within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. This role supports integrated care by working collaboratively with medical providers, case managers, and other support staff to address the mental health needs of patients across the lifespan. Responsible for direct services to clients and to provide brief interventions for substance use disorders and mental health disorders as well as for health conditions where behavioral or psychological elements are key contributors or components of the patient’s health condition(s) or overall, wellbeing. Counselors are required to document work daily utilizing agency approved software. The counselor is required to provide clinical supervision to non-licensed staff. Constantly exercises vigilance in maintaining confidential files and reports. In general terms, it contributes to the Center’s stated purpose by delivery of trauma-informed, integrated behavioral health services to people with mental health, substance use, co-morbid medical conditions, and other disabilities.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, marriage and family, or social work and must have & maintain a current professional license in good standing in the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- License must be in good standing.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Training in trauma-informed care through class completion or other formal training.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of social work and/or counseling principles, theory, and methods.
- Knowledge of applied behavioral science and evidenced-based practices in Psychology.
- Knowledge in enhancing social, psychosocial, or bio psychosocial functioning of individuals, couples, families, groups, organizations, and communities.
- Knowledge in interviewing, assessment, and evaluation.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to plan, develop, and implement consumer services.
- Ability to work independently and organize work efficiently.
- Ability to supervise the work of others and provide guidance to other staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively, good written and verbal skills.
- Ability to work under conditions requiring physical stamina and the ability to work in a stressful environment.
- Ability to commute to Tilden, TX 78072 (Required)
- Ability to relocate to Tilden, TX 78072 (Relocate before starting work required)
