Intellectual disabilities are non-curable intellectual impairments which affect the learning ability of an individual. People with an intellectual disability are slow learners and may also be impaired in their social adaptation. Camino Real provides many services and resources for individuals struggling with intellectual disabilities.
Camino Real ECI offers support and resources to families, which may include: family education and support; service coordination; developmental services; audiology and vision services; nursing and nutrition services; physical, occupational and speech-language therapies.
The YES (Youth Empowerment Services) Waiver is a home and community based services waiver that allows for more flexibility in the funding of intensive community-based services to assist children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbances to live in the community with their families. In addition to the services already offered under our Children's Mental Health Program, Camino Real also offers special YES Waiver services.
